always the optimist, i smile at such insignificant occurrences.
five things that make me happy:

(1) watching hilarious movies. BRIDESMAIDS. go see it.

(2) making early afternoon plans with friends that make getting out of bed easy.

(3) going to the gym.

(4) mushroom omelets. i wonder if i'll ever be sick of them.

(5) long showers.

here is the thing about being stubborn...

eventually i give in. you just have to let me come to the decision on my own terms.
i am going to quit while i am ahead with this whole 30 for 30 thing. it was a good first effort. and i defiantly appreciate those ladies who post outfit photos on their blog almost everyday. it is a lot harder than you think!

so to put me in happy spirits again, here are five things that make me happy!

(1) blog comments! thank you to anyone who follows my randomness and especially for sweet comments. it makes my day.

(2) quotes. here is a new favorite.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
Eleanor Roosevelt

seriously. that is awesome. i like it so much that i ponder tattooing it on me. i only got my first tattoo a year ago though so i should probably wait a while to get another.

it is a compass on my right forearm. there are phases in life. i was entering a new one. making decisions for my own happiness. i decided to quit floating amongst the undecided at university and do something totally unconventional. i was saving money to go on a trip to europe and i applied to the textile arts program at the college. the tattoo symbolizes taking a life direction, finding my way. everyone asks me why northeast and i always make the joke that i am a bit off. i think it says a lot about me.

(3) coffee table books. yesterday i bought one called the "wonders of the world."

(4) corn nuts.
(5) new friends and good friends.

fat is not a fairy tale.

by Jane Yolen
I am thinking of a fairy tale,
Cinder Elephant,
Sleeping Tubby,
Snow Weight,
where the princess is not
anorexic, wasp-waisted,
flinging herself down the stairs.
I am thinking of a fairy tale,
Hansel and Great,
Repoundsel,
Bounty and the Beast,
where the beauty
has a pillowed breast,
and fingers plump as sausage.
I am thinking of a fairy tale
that is not yet written,
for a teller not yet born,
for a listener not yet conceived,
for a world not yet won,
where everything round is good:
the sun, wheels, cookies, and the princess.
credit.

when i was thinking about self love i remembered the best poem i have ever read. i was never really into poetry when i had to read it, but how i love this. it is uncomplicated and straight to the point.

teela.

people usually wonder where my middle name "tela" comes from. well. it is actually spelled "teela" and apparently as i found out today should be pronounced tilae or something or other. regardless i say teela.
so here's the story. when i was born my older sister, megan, was six years old and at the time had an obsession with masters of the universe. she wanted my first name to be teela after heman's girl friend in the show and also man of arms adopted daughter. i don't know if any of you watched this show. i have no idea what it entails besides they are a bunch of warriors, which i think is pretty damn cool. moving on... my sister demanded that my name be teela or my parents weren't allowed to bring me home from the hospital. so they called me chelsie tela, actual spelling on my birth certificate, but because my sister was only six and my parents had no idea what this television show was, they spelled it incorrectly. i have adapted it to "teela" because nobody knows my pronunciation without the other "e". they always call me tell + ahh.
anywho. there's my name rant. i like having an unusual name.
