(2) dancing ridiculously to above said music. my solo dance parties involve some interesting dance steps. it is kind of a mix between ballet and contemporary. and the robot.

(3) kitties. furry balls of love.


(4) sunshine.

(5) long hair. i am happy it is back.

i can't help but play this song over and over again and i don't even like country music. i wish they played this at bars. male reactions to the lyrics would probably make my day.

sorry that all these vids are not the actual music video. i prefer her lyrics anyways. her songs are about more than just being in love or falling out of love.

concert day two. mika. his show was very elaborate and theatrical.

la roux. her set started off pretty slow. i am unsure if it the song order or if people just don't know her music, maybe both. but when colorless color came on, i could not help but jump around like a silly girl.

soooooooo... found this band that i really dig last night. i am having an extreme music day today as you can see by my previous post. it is what i do to relax. and today i am relaxing. cause it is my day off. my next day off is not until wednesday. these three guys are from ottawa and were only in town because the lead singer is getting married, i presume to a gal from newfoundland cause why else would someone come here to get married really. anywho, they describe themselves as garage/ rock/ indie. right up my ally. i find it quite helpful when bands classify themselves this way because it makes it much easier for me to understand my own musical tastes. i know the music i like, but i sometimes have trouble explaining it to others. my favorite song by them is red letter. the first two lines are "you are a rubik's cube and i'm pulling off the stickers. you're not the kind of game i want to play." how could anyone not love that!

florence and the machine. also, imogen heap.

the last one is my favorite. i have just in the last couple of days started listening to these guys. i guess i am just in the mood now, cause i tried to listen to them before and did not like them. hahaha. tastes and moods change i suppose. i originally found out about them because they were playing at a festival i wanted to attend in belgium and then heard this song on the vampire diaries the other day (yep. i have been watching this show non-stop online since i started watching it last week). others that i have listened to are drumming song, rabbit heart, kiss with a fist, all very sweet tracks.
now that i have re-listened to imogen heap, i am not sure why florence and the machince reminded me of them, but i guess there are defiantly some similarities. i discovered imogen heap through watching the o.c. is this the new trend in television?! i have noticed a lot of televison shows playing somewhat obscure music during their episodes. and by obscure i mean not the top 100 and such.

never heard this one before, but i quite like it.

this is on the radio, which makes me like it less. what can i say people, at least i am honest about being weird. i hateeee the radio stations here. seriously, hits fm is enough to make me vomit. okay, i'll stop being a bitch now. i promised not to complain. i might be a complainy individual which i never thought myself to be.
la roux is french for the red headed one, although the grammar isn't appropriate as la is feminine and roux is masculine. a mixture of the masculine and feminine is quite fitting for this girl. jane and i are also seeing her at this concert in france!

i hate the youtube comments section. people are always so mean. don't you have something better to do with your time. or better yet, start a blog so only people who want to hear your opinions will. and i also hate that everyone is compared to lady gaga. part of her being different is just a way to make more money. why is everyone else said to be copying her. don't forget gaga has not been around long at all.

yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! i am feeling better. and here is the result. much more chelsie esque. i found out about this artist through a blog actually, unfortunately though, the blog no longer allows public access. you need to know a code or something or other. she hadn't updated in a while, but it was always a good place to find a new music fix. gosh, i need to make my mp3 player like me again. yes dudes, seriously, technology does not want to be my friend. maybe i am trying too hard.

i feel as though i have heard this song on the radio long ago. could be true as it was released in 2007 or something or other.


although i am a hugggggggge fan of phoenix, i have only actually heard their latest album. the album art is cute. i almost want to buy it just so i can display it in my boudoir. but i haven't. maybe i will at some point. although i doubt i will have any spending money once i return from my vacation in august.
something of which i am excited is to see them live in france!! weoooooo! jane and i are attending this concert, if all goes as planned.

i remembered this band, which i had forgotten about, when a guy who was car pooling with me from work turned on cbc radio two. megan and i had heard them on cbc radio two while driving back to town after christmas holidays. i am not sure how to describe the feeling i get when listening to their music. it is kind of an eerie calmness, or is it calm eeriness. similar to what i think being in a trance would feel like. they certainly aren't meant to be listened to when you want to jump around and dance like a fool.

this is the song that i first heard by the band. all their videos are quite strange. which is of course, part of why i like them.

teenage dirtbag.

tell me someone who doesn't know every word to this song. ohhh... to be a teenager again. except. i am so glad i am not a teenager anymore. you don't realize how annoying they are until you aren't one. they curse at each other from opposite ends of the street and think it funny to pretend to push each other into on coming traffic. and i know this is really stupid to say cause a lot of people say this, but i know sooooo much more now than i knew back then. i had no idea what i liked. but although i had no idea what i liked, i knew what i didn't like. i think the best thing that ever happened to me in high school was watching the o.c. some might think it is a lame show, but it introduced me to creating personal style and tons of wicked awesome music such as... the killers!! this is a great website for music ideas.
p.s. as far as i know wheatus is a one hit wonder. let me know if you do not feel the same. maybe they are a treasure that is worth searching? or not.

i luvvvre queen. my friends seem to believe that my musical tastes are limited to music made in this decade, so not the case. here is my proof :)i like tons of their songs, but i am sure you know them, too.

this post prompted by glee. specifically bohemian rhapsody in the season finale by the sexy jesse st. james. swoon. i didn't realize until today that queen is a favorite for the show.

this album is so freaking awesome. it stands the test of time. although, i have to say i listened to all of their stuff while i was in high school, i always return to this one. this weekend it seems they have been working on a new album, their facebook page is being continuously updated with their progress. i really hope they return to a sound similar to tragic kingdom in nature because i would love to hear more of it.

daft punk.

recently i have taken to trying to be more active. so far i have ran four times. yesterday i forced myself. and today i didn't make it. something that helps me get hyped for a run, so that i don't have to force myself, is music. daft punk has helped me through my first week, now i have to find what is going to take me through this one!

why? because i love them. so freaking much. more than i realize most days. why would people not like them. and it isn't even because their lead singer is one of the only men i have ever seen make a mustache sexy either.




i sang this song at winners the other night while i was cleaning and one of my fellow employees thought it quite strange. i'll admit my version is even creepier out of musical context...

pathological lovers.

these guys are the best local band in town by far. in my opinion. and it is not just because i have had a major jones for the bass player since the first time i saw them play over a year ago. i almost go to all their shows and their debut album gets lots of play time in my car. they do what they do well and this video is a testament to their quality as performers. they deserve to be successful, but i will miss singing along at their shows. and staring dreamily at dave of course.
