am i nuts? i'm nuts.
i am that person who frequently giggles at the silly things i do. and then i choose to tell my friends about them. some people would choose to keep things to themselves, but i like to make people laugh even if it involves me looking stupid. and i feel like my friends are friends with me and not some cooler version of me because of these silly things. i write this after attempting to tickle my cat in what would be her armpit. as i did it i wondered if she would giggle. even thinking this thought made me giggle. sometimes i feel nuts for having elaborate internal conversations with myself, but you know what, it's these little giggles that make my day. i am going to make the bold statement and say, my favorite thing to do is laugh. i certainly can't take myself too seriously. and i can't be bothered to hang out with people who choose to take life so seriously. ALL. THE. TIME. there is a time to have serious conversations about life and then there is a time to tickle your cat's would be armpit.

the people who know you.
you know you have amazing friends when they know you better than you do.
to anyone who has been able to tell me something about myself that i was in denial of.
i love you.

simply fantastic.
always the optimist, i smile at such insignificant occurrences.
five things that make me happy:
(1) watching hilarious movies. BRIDESMAIDS. go see it.
(2) making early afternoon plans with friends that make getting out of bed easy.
(3) going to the gym.
(4) mushroom omelets. i wonder if i'll ever be sick of them.
(5) long showers.

here is the thing about being stubborn...
eventually i give in. you just have to let me come to the decision on my own terms.
i am going to quit while i am ahead with this whole 30 for 30 thing. it was a good first effort. and i defiantly appreciate those ladies who post outfit photos on their blog almost everyday. it is a lot harder than you think!
so to put me in happy spirits again, here are five things that make me happy!
(1) blog comments! thank you to anyone who follows my randomness and especially for sweet comments. it makes my day.
(2) quotes. here is a new favorite.
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
Eleanor Roosevelt
seriously. that is awesome. i like it so much that i ponder tattooing it on me. i only got my first tattoo a year ago though so i should probably wait a while to get another.
it is a compass on my right forearm. there are phases in life. i was entering a new one. making decisions for my own happiness. i decided to quit floating amongst the undecided at university and do something totally unconventional. i was saving money to go on a trip to europe and i applied to the textile arts program at the college. the tattoo symbolizes taking a life direction, finding my way. everyone asks me why northeast and i always make the joke that i am a bit off. i think it says a lot about me.
(3) coffee table books. yesterday i bought one called the "wonders of the world."
(4) corn nuts.
(5) new friends and good friends.

smile and you will be happy.
sometimes i am obnoxiously happy.
most of the time actually.
and i like to spread the positivity.
don't let the mondays get you down.
five things that make me happy!
(1)knitting. specifically creating your own knitting patterns. it is a good class to have on a monday morning.
(2)lady pals. two of my current favorite awkward old photos of us nuts.

about two years ago.

about a year ago. . .

and this picture is what prompted the picture above.
hahahha. the best.
(3)fudgy hugs. they are indeed as good as they sound.
(4)learning. i am the biggest nerd. i love being told about things much more than reading about them. it might sound bad that i don't want to read, but asking questions gets you to the things you want to know more efficently. the more i learn about india, the more i want to go there. it has made it's way to the list of places to visit.
(5) coffee. i can not believe i only started drinking it a little over a year ago.

make a change.
a confession letter to myself.
i am becoming a slacker. my routine has blown out the window. i've been skipping classes, calling in sick at work and am absolutely never on time. late, even to things i seriously want to go to.
no more of it.
i can't keep going this way. i love school, but i won't get out of bed when my alarm sounds the first time. after the first alarm sounds my half asleep self can not be trusted. i woke up at 10:30 a.m. sleeping on top of my cell phone (which is my alarm) and then thought "oh i will just skip my first class" which then lead to me going back to sleep and waking up and deciding "i'll just skip today, but this is the last time." my teachers and classmates are going to start putting me in the "drop out" group and i totally can't let that happen. i did really, really well last term. i have goals that i want to achieve.
i need to get my shit together.
this is me fessing up to my lack of movement these last few weeks. it's not as though i am feeling sad in life or anything, i am actually pretty happy. there are things happening in my life this term that weren't in the last and i wonder if this is pulling my focus. if i want to balance all of these things, then i have to become more dedicated.
self goals:
1. no more procrastinating. meaning no more long hours on my computer for absolutely no reason. seriously my computer is time sucking me. esp. facebook. i want to delete it. real bad sometimes.
do your homework instead!
2. go to bed at a reasonable hour. this also is at fault of my computer. either i am up doing homework cause i spent all evening on my computer or i am on my computer.
go to sleep by 1:00 a.m. bed at midnight (yes this is early for me).
you are a champion sleeper! there is no reason you can't fall asleep. and if you can't, read a book, stay away from your bright computer screen.
3. start going to the gym in the morning before school. omg. i am so not a morning person, but i need to be. my classes are in the morning so how am i ever going to succeed unless i make myself become a morning person. i want to be happy and healthy and if i can get to the gym before class then i can get to class on time.
when you put your mind to something, you can get results!
4. no more calling in sick to work. i worked at Winners for months without calling in sick once. and i was working another job then. no more showing up late for work. you only have three shifts a week. it's not rocket science.
make work a priority and take pride in being a good worker.
people shouldn't have any possible reason to complain about you!
all in all, every minute counts so use them to do things that make you feel productive.
stop living a life of mediocrity. let yourself be awesome.

teela.

people usually wonder where my middle name "tela" comes from. well. it is actually spelled "teela" and apparently as i found out today should be pronounced tilae or something or other. regardless i say teela.
so here's the story. when i was born my older sister, megan, was six years old and at the time had an obsession with masters of the universe. she wanted my first name to be teela after heman's girl friend in the show and also man of arms adopted daughter. i don't know if any of you watched this show. i have no idea what it entails besides they are a bunch of warriors, which i think is pretty damn cool. moving on... my sister demanded that my name be teela or my parents weren't allowed to bring me home from the hospital. so they called me chelsie tela, actual spelling on my birth certificate, but because my sister was only six and my parents had no idea what this television show was, they spelled it incorrectly. i have adapted it to "teela" because nobody knows my pronunciation without the other "e". they always call me tell + ahh.
anywho. there's my name rant. i like having an unusual name.

self love.
nicki wrote a post a few days back about 10 things she likes about herself, 5 personality traits and 5 physical traits. i found myself having a difficult time at first because i was in a phase of body hate, but i am currently over that so i decided to do one of my own.
1. inquisitive. i have days where i am constantly asking questions. a kind of curious george. if i haven't had time alone with my thoughts, they tend to overflow into the universe, left behind for others to ponder the answer. i feel like some people live so shallowly and don't think about things. i like to try to think of reasons for why people are the way they are and not just go about life only upon the surface. i like this about myself. others might get annoyed though.
2. intelligent. i think i am anyways. in high school, i always said it would be the best compliment someone could give me. i like to learn about things and i am not afraid to ask stupid questions. anymore. i like this quote: To be conscious that you are ignorant is a great step to knowledge. Benjamin Disraeli. i surround myself with people who can teach me something. it doesn't really matter what they teach me as long as they have something to teach.
3. empathetic . everyone has the right to be heard. i understand people don't have to share the same views as me. just because i am an atheist does not mean that i believe everyone needs to be. i don't believe anyone should push their views on others, including myself.
4. independent. i like to support myself financially. i like to try new things even if they scare me. i know who i am and i like who i am and if you don't like me, what am i suppose to do about it.
5. honest. yes i tell fibs from time to time, don't we all. but ultimately i am going to be honest with you. i sometimes wear my heart on my sleeve, but i am not afraid that it will break. it's a strong heart.
6. eyes. i like that they are green. probably because i like to be different.
7. back. who doesn't like their back though, it is always lean and sexy.
8. dents above my butt. mischievous as a tattoo, but cuter.
9. butt. i guess what i am trying to say is that i like the way i look from behind?! hahah.
10. legs. when i am in shape, they are muscular, but lean. and they look pretty cute in a skirt. i think i better take up cross country skiing again. seriously, it is a great all around work out.
well. now i am feeling better about myself. there is nothing quite like a positive attitude. share the love people! i would love to read your 10 if you would like to post a link in my comments!
