am i nuts? i'm nuts.

i am that person who frequently giggles at the silly things i do. and then i choose to tell my friends about them. some people would choose to keep things to themselves, but i like to make people laugh even if it involves me looking stupid. and i feel like my friends are friends with me and not some cooler version of me because of these silly things. i write this after attempting to tickle my cat in what would be her armpit. as i did it i wondered if she would giggle. even thinking this thought made me giggle. sometimes i feel nuts for having elaborate internal conversations with myself, but you know what, it's these little giggles that make my day. i am going to make the bold statement and say, my favorite thing to do is laugh. i certainly can't take myself too seriously. and i can't be bothered to hang out with people who choose to take life so seriously. ALL. THE. TIME. there is a time to have serious conversations about life and then there is a time to tickle your cat's would be armpit.

i am one of those people who does not wash their hair everyday. firstly, it is not healthy for your hair. secondly, and more importantly, i am a lazy daisy. i don't like to try to fix my hair. it usually sits in a bun at the top of my head or runs wild wavy along my shoulders. the head wrap comes in handy when you want to get an extra day out of a single hair washing and it brings a little interest to an ordinary outfit.

i am silly. i won't take the time to read my camera manual to figure out how to set my camera's self timer to more than one photo at a time causing taking pictures to be a pain. i am going to have to give in and read it. i'll surely save time in the long run. i'll be posting pictures long after i've worn 30 outfits at this rate. i am a huge fan of dressing down items that might be considered a little fancy for everyday wear. clean and casual is happy summer dressing.

time to get started with my next 30 for 30: summer edition. ridiculously, i'm finding the clothing limitation quite freeing. i've already worn 8 outfits consisting of my 30 items. shoes and outerwear not included. i am on a major shoe kick lately and i have so many pairs that i only get the chance to wear during summer so i am adapting the rules, as i usually do, and considering shoes an accessory. also. seeing as the temperature fluctuates around here i also did not limit my jacket consumption. we barely peak 20 degrees here on the best of days. in newfoundland, summer equals fog.

eventually i give in. you just have to let me come to the decision on my own terms.
i am going to quit while i am ahead with this whole 30 for 30 thing. it was a good first effort. and i defiantly appreciate those ladies who post outfit photos on their blog almost everyday. it is a lot harder than you think!

so to put me in happy spirits again, here are five things that make me happy!

seriously. that is awesome. i like it so much that i ponder tattooing it on me. i only got my first tattoo a year ago though so i should probably wait a while to get another.

it is a compass on my right forearm. there are phases in life. i was entering a new one. making decisions for my own happiness. i decided to quit floating amongst the undecided at university and do something totally unconventional. i was saving money to go on a trip to europe and i applied to the textile arts program at the college. the tattoo symbolizes taking a life direction, finding my way. everyone asks me why northeast and i always make the joke that i am a bit off. i think it says a lot about me.

(3) coffee table books. yesterday i bought one called the "wonders of the world."

(4) corn nuts.
(5) new friends and good friends.

have you met my cat, missy? how cute is she. you can totally visualize her strut. her walk has been compared to that of a penguin. last night she attempted to freshen her kitty breath by eating my chewing gum. i moved the gum to my desk. then the other one, dora, was enticed by the minty freshness as well. i ended up tossing the pack into my school bag. but i did not zip the zipper. then when i woke up this morning, pieces of gum were scattered across my floor, wrappers still on. it didn't look like they actually ate any, but they certainly were preoccupied by the scent at least.

i didn't wear this little hat out of my house, but it is pretty cute all the same. apparently, i really like this red skirt. i am pretty sure it cost me six dollars and i've already worn it four times. cost per wear equals a dollar fifty thus far.
